The most annoying thing about using Midjourney isn’t the parameters—it’s suddenly being unable to log in, generations getting stuck, or not being able to find your work. Below, I break down common Midjourney issues by scenario. If you follow the checks step by step, you can usually pinpoint the cause. Each step is practical and hands-on, to help you avoid detours.
Stuck Login and Verification Failures: Start with the Authorization Flow
The Midjourney web app relies on Discord authorization. If you encounter a white screen or it redirects back to the login page, first clear cookies related to midjourney.com and discord.com in your browser, then log in again using an incognito/private window. If it still fails, check whether browser extensions (ad blockers, script managers) are blocking the Discord pop-up; temporarily disable them and try again.
If you see verification-related prompts, go to Discord to confirm your email has been verified and that your account isn’t restricted from logging in; also make sure you’re still in a server that contains the Midjourney Bot. If authorization succeeds but the page is blank, try switching networks or using a mobile hotspot to rule out local DNS/proxy issues causing the authorization callback to fail.
Can’t Generate Images / Interaction Failed: Identify Whether the Error Is on the Web or in Discord
If you click a command in Discord and see a message like “interaction failed,” it’s usually due to an unstable network at the moment or insufficient channel permissions. Make sure you enter /imagine in a channel that allows application commands, rather than sending the prompt as a normal message; in a private server, you also need to grant the Midjourney Bot permission to send messages and upload attachments.
If the web app shows a job not moving or stuck in queue, first go to Midjourney’s Jobs/queue page to confirm whether it was actually submitted successfully, then check Discord to see whether the bot replied. If you’re on Relax/slow mode, wait times will naturally be longer; you can also check the status page or official announcement channels for service disruptions to avoid repeatedly resubmitting and clogging the queue.
