Claude Common Troubleshooting: Stuck Login, Failed Sends, and File Upload Issues

Claude

When using Claude for writing or organizing materials, what most affects efficiency is usually not the features, but getting stuck on login, messages failing to send, or files failing to upload. Below, these common Claude issues are broken down by scenario and checked step by step—basically, you can get back to normal within a few minutes.

Stuck login, repeated verification: Start with the browser and network

If the Claude login page keeps spinning or verification keeps reappearing, prioritize switching to a clean environment: open Claude in an incognito window, or temporarily disable ad blockers/script extensions. Then clear the site’s cookies and cache—many “stuck logging in” issues are caused by leftover old sessions.

On the network side, switch to a more stable connection and avoid interception by corporate intranet proxies/gateways. If Claude can’t complete verification across different devices, it’s usually due to network issues or account risk controls being triggered; waiting for a while and trying again is often more effective than repeatedly refreshing.

Message send failures, endless spinning: Rate limiting and session conflicts are most common

Claude becomes stricter about high-frequency requests over a short period, which can show up as send failures, endless spinning, or prompts to try again later. The approach: stop for 1–3 minutes, refresh the page, then resend the same question from “New chat”—the success rate is noticeably higher.

If you use Claude in multiple tabs at the same time, session-state conflicts can easily occur. Close extra tabs, keep only one chat window, and try to avoid sending messages continuously on both mobile and web at the same time.

Files won’t upload or parsing is incomplete: Check format, size, and content structure

If an upload gets stuck in Claude, first confirm whether the file format is a common type (such as PDF, DOCX, TXT, etc.) and whether the file size is too large. Splitting a large file into several parts or converting it to plain text before uploading is usually faster than retrying over and over.

Another common reason is that the document contains lots of images, scanned pages, or complex tables, which can make Claude’s parsing slow or even fail. It’s recommended to extract key pages locally, export the text layer, or convert tables to CSV/plain text, then have Claude process it in the order of “overview first—then extract section by section—finally summarize.”

Chats not syncing, language changed: Don’t rush to reinstall—check settings and status first

Claude’s chat list may occasionally load slowly or temporarily not appear. First, hard-refresh the page and confirm that the account is using the same login method. If you log into Claude in different browsers and the history looks “lost,” it’s usually just an illusion caused by using different accounts.

If the interface language or output style suddenly changes, first check whether custom instructions/preferences are enabled, or whether the current conversation was “pulled off course” by your earlier requests. Start a new Claude chat and lock in the rule with a single sentence (e.g., “Please use Simplified Chinese and list key points”)—this usually restores stable output.

Still not resolved: How to provide all the information to support at once

If Claude keeps behaving abnormally, it’s recommended to record three pieces of information: a screenshot of the problematic page, the steps that triggered it (what you clicked/what you sent), and your browser and network environment (device, OS, browser version). Organize these before submitting feedback—this is often easier to diagnose and handle than just saying “it doesn’t work.”
