Claude Troubleshooting Guide: Fixing Page Not Loading, Send Failures, and Quota Anomalies

Claude

When Claude won’t open, messages won’t send, or you’re prompted that your quota is insufficient, most issues can be quickly pinpointed through self-checks. Below is a Claude troubleshooting flow in the order of “check the environment first, then the account, and finally the service status,” to help you avoid detours.

Start with an environment self-check: network, browser, and extensions

The first step in Claude troubleshooting is to confirm your network is stable: switch between Wi‑Fi and cellular data once, or try a different DNS and then refresh. Next, open claude.ai in an incognito window to rule out cache and login-state interference; if it works in incognito, clearing site data usually fixes it.

Browser extensions are also a common culprit: ad blockers, script managers, and privacy-protection extensions may block requests. Temporarily disable extensions and try again, especially those that “block tracking” or “inject scripts.”

Blank page or endless loading: cache, region, and service status

If you see a blank page, missing buttons, or endless loading, first clear claude.ai cookies and cache and log in again. Then try switching browser engines (Chrome/Edge/Firefox) and turning off settings like “force HTTPS / automatic proxy switching,” as these can cause resources to fail to load.

It’s also recommended to check Anthropic’s official status page (status.anthropic.com). When there’s a service-side incident, continuing to tinker with local settings isn’t very helpful; note the error symptoms and timestamp, and retry after the status recovers to save time.

Send failures and error codes: how to handle 429/403/5xx

If you encounter “send failed” or “Something went wrong,” Claude troubleshooting can start by shortening your input: avoid pasting large blocks of text at once, send it in two or three parts, and avoid frequently submitting from multiple tabs at the same time. If you see 429 (Too Many Requests), it usually means too many requests in a short period—pause for a few minutes and try again, or reduce concurrent actions.

If it’s 403/401, it’s often related to login state or account permissions: log out and back in, and if necessary try a different network environment. If it’s a 5xx error, it’s generally a temporary server-side issue; the most effective approach is to retry later and monitor the status page.

Quota and file issues: read the prompt carefully and reduce wasted usage

If you see “quota insufficient / usage restricted,” first confirm you didn’t switch to the wrong account or accidentally open multiple sessions that accelerate consumption; closing unnecessary chats and reducing repeated rewrites of the same question can help reduce wasted usage. During Claude troubleshooting, also pay attention to consumption differences between models: switching to a lighter-weight model is often more stable.

If file uploads fail, first check file size, format, and network fluctuations, and try renaming the file in English and uploading after compressing it. If the same file fails repeatedly, switching browsers or using incognito mode can quickly verify whether it’s a local issue or a service-side issue.
