Claude Account Registration and Login Switching Guide: Email Binding and Common Entry Points

This article covers only Claude account operations: from registration and email verification to the correct way to log out and switch accounts. Follow the steps, and you can basically avoid common sticking points like “can’t log in,” “failed to switch accounts,” and “keeps returning to the login page.”

1. Confirm the entry point before visiting the Claude official site

After opening your browser, go directly to Claude’s official site (usually claude.ai). If the page won’t open, first check whether your network can access the site normally, then try another browser or an incognito window. This step can rule out many local cache issues.

It’s recommended to complete Claude’s first login on your primary device first, which will make subsequent logins on your phone or another computer easier. If you have multiple browsers, stick to one as your main Claude entry point to avoid account information being scattered across different caches.

2. Claude registration: Email/third-party login and verification

On the Claude login page, choose email registration or third-party account login (the page will show the available options). If registering with email, follow the prompts to enter your email address and confirm via the verification email; after successful verification, continue to set the necessary account information.

If you don’t receive Claude’s verification email, first check the spam folder and the “Promotions/Subscriptions” category, then confirm that the email address was entered correctly. If it still doesn’t arrive, you can return to the Claude login page and resend the verification email—don’t click repeatedly in quick succession to avoid triggering risk controls.

3. How to bind your email and set up basic security

After logging in to Claude, go to Account Settings (usually under your avatar or personal menu). In Settings, you can view the current login method, email information, and security options related to your account; if you need to change your email, you generally must verify the new email first.

It’s recommended that you enable any available security features in Claude (such as stronger verification methods or login alerts, depending on what the page offers). Also, keep your primary email accessible to avoid getting stuck at the verification step when logging into Claude on a different device.

4. Logging out and switching Claude accounts: the three most reliable methods

Method 1: Select Log out from Claude’s personal menu, then log in again with another account. Method 2: Use an incognito window to log into a second Claude account—both accounts won’t interfere with each other, which is suitable for temporary switching.

Method 3: Use different browser profiles for different Claude accounts (both Chrome and Edge support multiple users). If you find you can’t fully switch no matter what, clear the site’s cookies and cache and then log in again; this usually resolves the issue of “automatically jumping back to the old account.”

5. Switch failures and login loops: a quick troubleshooting checklist

If you encounter a Claude login loop or keep getting stuck on a blank page, first try logging into Claude in an incognito window to confirm whether extensions or cache are the cause. Then disable ad blockers and script-related extensions one by one—many cases of “nothing happens when I click the button” are related to extensions.

If Claude reports verification failure or abnormal requests, first check whether your system time is correct and your network is stable, and avoid repeatedly refreshing and retrying in a short period. As a last step, consider switching browsers or devices to log into Claude. Using the fewest variables to pinpoint the problem will be faster.
