Claude Account Registration and Login Switching Guide: Email Verification, Device Management, and Logout Cleanup

This tutorial focuses specifically on Claude account registration, verification, switching accounts when logging in, and key considerations for using multiple devices. Follow the steps to proactively avoid Claude login issues and situations like “stuck on verification/can’t enter the page.”

1. Claude registration entry and email verification process

After opening the official Claude website, choose to create a Claude account using an email address or a third-party account. If registering with email, it’s recommended to prioritize a long-term, stable email address to avoid missing verification emails due to company mailbox permission changes. After submitting your email, check your inbox for the verification email; it’s commonly filtered into the “Promotions/Spam” folder.

After verification is completed, return to the page and continue setting up basic information to enter Claude. If the Claude page shows that the service is unavailable or fails to load, first confirm that your browser isn’t blocking scripts and cookies, then try again with a different network environment—this usually helps pinpoint the issue quickly.

2. Claude account linking and switching login methods

The core of a Claude account is the “account itself,” not a particular device. You can log in to the same Claude account on different devices. If you use both email login and third-party login, be sure to confirm whether they point to the same Claude account; otherwise, you may get the illusion that “the conversations are gone.”

When you need to switch Claude accounts, the most reliable approach is to log out of the current Claude account first, then log in again with the target account. Try not to frequently run parallel logins with multiple accounts via incognito windows in the same browser, as it can easily confuse Claude’s session state.

3. Multi-device login: session sync and privacy considerations

Claude conversations are typically synced with your Claude account across the devices you’ve logged into. So if you start a chat on a computer, logging into the same Claude account on your phone will generally let you pick up where you left off. When using Claude on a shared computer, avoid letting the browser remember passwords, and make sure autofill is turned off to reduce the risk of the account being misused.

If you find that Claude shows different conversations on different devices, first confirm whether you’re logged into the same Claude account, then check whether you have multiple browser profiles enabled that might be causing account mix-ups.

4. Logout and cleanup methods when login gets stuck

If Claude still automatically jumps back to the old account after you log out, it’s most likely due to leftover cookies or cache. You can first clear the cookies and cache for the Claude site in your browser, then reopen Claude and log in again; this step is usually far more effective than “refreshing repeatedly.”

If Claude keeps spinning or the CAPTCHA/verification page keeps reappearing, it’s recommended to troubleshoot in this order: disable ad-blocking extensions → allow third-party cookies → switch browsers or open a clean browser profile. After logging in, restore extension settings one by one to more quickly identify what conflicts with Claude.
