This tutorial only covers the basics of getting started with Claude: how to register, how to confirm your email is linked after logging in, and the correct way to switch accounts between computer and phone. Many issues people run into—“can’t get in,” “not receiving emails,” “can’t switch accounts”—are essentially caused by choosing the wrong login method or by browser cache. Follow the steps below and you can usually resolve it smoothly.
1. How to register a Claude account (web and mobile)
After opening the Claude official website, click the login/sign-up entry point and follow the prompts to choose a login method to complete registration. Common methods for Claude include receiving a login link via email, or logging in directly with a third-party account. The first time you enter Claude, the system will ask you to complete the necessary verification steps—just follow the on-page instructions.
After registration, it’s recommended that you immediately start a test conversation to confirm Claude can save chat history properly. If the page keeps spinning/loading, try reopening Claude in a new browser tab and then continue.
2. What Claude “email linking” is actually linking
Many people assume Claude works like traditional websites where you “register first and then link an email,” but more commonly with Claude, whichever email or third-party method you use to log in determines your Claude account identity. After logging in, you can go to the account information page in Settings to see the email information and login method associated with the current Claude account.
Note that Claude typically does not provide an easy option to freely “change the linked email from Email A to Email B.” If you want to use Claude with another email, the more reliable approach is to log out of the current Claude account and then log in again with the new email to create another account.
