Claude Account Registration and Login Device Management Guide: Signing Out, Switching Accounts, and Common Sticking Points

Claude

This article clearly explains everything from registering Claude to everyday login management: how to complete email verification, how to sign out safely, and more convenient ways to switch between multiple Claude accounts. All steps are done on the claude.ai web version—no extra tools required.

Registering a Claude account: email and verification steps

After opening claude.ai, follow the on-page prompts to choose email registration for Claude, enter your email address, and request a verification email/login link. Go back to your inbox and click the verification link; the browser will automatically return to Claude and complete the login. If you don’t receive the email, first check your Spam folder and the “Promotions/Subscriptions” categories, then confirm that your mailbox isn’t blocking emails from Anthropic.

If the Claude page shows “This region is not available,” it usually means the service hasn’t been launched in your area yet; this kind of message isn’t an account issue. Try registering again from a supported network environment for a smoother process.

Login and sign-out: the key to avoiding account mix-ups

In daily use of Claude, the most common hassle is: “I clearly switched emails, but I still end up in the old account.” The safest approach is to open the personal menu in the top-right corner of Claude, find Sign out, and confirm you’ve signed out successfully before logging in again. If it still automatically jumps back to the old session after signing out, it’s most likely because the browser cache hasn’t refreshed. Manually clearing cookies related to claude.ai and trying again usually fixes it.

Switching between multiple Claude accounts: three reliable methods

If you need to switch Claude accounts frequently, don’t repeatedly log in and out in the same browser tab—it’s easy to confuse sessions. The first method is to use browser “Users/Profiles” to separate environments for different Claude accounts; the second is to use a normal window for the primary account and an incognito/private window for temporary login to a secondary account; the third is to pin different Claude accounts to different browsers (e.g., one in Chrome and one in Edge).

No matter which method you use, it’s recommended to keep a matching record for each Claude account: the registration email, the login method (email/Google), and the commonly used workspace—so you can reduce rework from “logged in successfully but into the wrong account.”

Common sticking points: verification email, loading failures, and rate limits

If Claude’s verification email is delayed, don’t repeatedly spam “Resend,” as it can easily trigger short-term rate limiting; waiting a few minutes between attempts is more reliable. If the page keeps spinning or stays blank, first check browser extensions (ad blockers/script blockers) and corporate network policies—they may block required script requests for Claude. If you see a “too many requests” message, sign out of Claude, close the relevant tabs, wait a while, and then log in again—this is usually more effective than repeatedly refreshing.
