Claude FAQ: Login Verification, Usage Limits, and File Upload Failures

3/10/2026
Claude

When using Claude, the most common problems aren’t “not knowing how to use it,” but small issues like getting stuck on login verification, usage-limit prompts, or failed file uploads. Below, we break down the most frequent issues by scenario—following these steps usually restores normal operation.

Login & Verification: What to do if the CAPTCHA loops or the page keeps spinning

If Claude keeps showing the CAPTCHA repeatedly or the page keeps loading, it’s usually related to browser cache, extensions, or your network exit. First, open Claude in Incognito/Private mode, temporarily disable ad blockers and script-related extensions, then try logging in again.

If Claude frequently disconnects on a company/campus network, it’s recommended to switch to a more stable network environment and avoid refreshing the page too often. If it still doesn’t work, switching to a different browser engine (for example, from certain customized browsers to a stock Chrome-based one) often works immediately.

Usage & Rate Limiting: “Usage limit reached” or “Request rejected”

If Claude indicates your usage is limited, first check whether you sent a large amount of long text or multiple files in a short period—these actions are more likely to trigger rate limits. Splitting a long task into several parts and reducing concurrent prompts usually helps Claude return to an available state faster.

If you see messages like “Request rejected,” try starting a new chat instead of repeatedly resending in the same thread. If you’re using Claude on multiple devices at the same time, also avoid high-frequency actions simultaneously, as the system may flag it as abnormal traffic.

File Upload Failures: What to check if it won’t upload or can’t be parsed

If Claude fails to upload a file, start by checking the file itself: whether it’s too large, corrupted, encrypted, or has complex permissions. Saving the document in a more common format and removing password protection increases the success rate when uploading to Claude.

If Claude can upload the file but the content isn’t parsed well, paste the key excerpts as well and specify what you want it to do (extract key points/compare/generate a table). For scanned documents or image-based PDFs, running OCR before giving it to Claude is more stable than uploading directly.

Chats & Projects: Handling truncated replies or unsynced history

If Claude’s reply gets cut off, don’t just send “continue.” It’s better to add where you want it to resume, or paste back the last two or three sentences from the previous segment. This makes it easier for Claude to reconnect the context and reduces drifting or repetition.

If Claude’s history or project content isn’t syncing, first confirm whether you switched accounts or workspaces, then try logging out and back in. In the browser, you can also clear site data related to Claude and reopen the page—this usually fixes small issues like “you can see it but can’t open it.”
