Steps to Register a Claude Account and Log In for the First Time

After opening the official Claude website (claude.ai), click the login/sign-up entry. Claude usually supports signing up with an email, and may also provide quick options such as Google or Apple. If you choose email sign-up, enter your email as prompted and complete the verification code check to access the Claude homepage. After entering Claude for the first time, it’s recommended to first confirm that the account information shown under the avatar in the top-right corner is correct, to avoid accidentally signing in to a Claude account under a different email.

Confirming and Binding Email Information in Claude

After logging in to Claude, click the avatar in the top-right corner to enter the settings page, and first check whether the email shown under “Account”/account-related information is correct. If you initially logged in to Claude via a third-party method and later want to standardize on your commonly used email, it’s recommended to note down your current login method first, then verify your email information in the settings page. If you run into “the email is correct but the verification code isn’t received,” check the spam folder and any corporate email filtering rules first; if necessary, switch to a more reliable email and log in to Claude again.

Standard Approach to Logging In to Claude on Multiple Devices and Switching Accounts

Claude supports logging in to the same account on different devices, but the most reliable process when switching accounts is: first log out from the Claude avatar menu on the current device, then choose the target account and log in again. Don’t frequently switch among multiple Claude accounts in the same browser while stacking extensions, as this can easily trigger security checks or cause the page state to fall out of sync. If you need to use two Claude accounts at the same time, it’s recommended to log in separately using different browsers or incognito windows to reduce cookie overwriting.

Common Login Sticking Points and Quick Fixes

If the Claude page repeatedly jumps back to the login page, first clear the site’s cache and cookies, then reopen claude.ai and try logging in to Claude again. If the verification code never arrives, in addition to email filtering, it may also be that an unstable network environment is causing the request to fail—switching networks and trying again is often faster. If Claude prompts “abnormal request/verification failed,” first confirm that the system time and time zone are set to sync automatically, then disable proxies or blocking-type extensions and log in to Claude again; the success rate will improve significantly.
