OpenAI has recently announced the launch of the ChatGPT 26 program, recruiting 26 student talents in the United States and Canada who are using AI to create beyond the classroom. The initiative primarily targets people aged 18 to 25, aiming to identify students who have already built AI projects, tools, and new opportunities in real-world settings—and, amid intensifying competition for early-stage talent, provide them with a more direct pathway to support.
According to the program overview, selected participants will receive funding, access to technology and tools, and community and visibility opportunities. OpenAI highlights student application areas such as using AI to advance scientific research, improve aviation training, develop tools for small businesses, and build learning support platforms, emphasizing a practical focus on “using AI to solve real problems.”
