According to overseas media reports, OpenAI is expanding its hiring to strengthen competition with Anthropic’s Claude in enterprise AI applications. Sources say new hires will primarily be placed in product development, engineering, research, and sales. OpenAI also plans to add dedicated staff to help enterprise customers better use its tools and services, accelerating deployment and commercialization.
The report also notes that, based on credit card data from payments company Ramp, some believe first-time corporate buyers of AI products are more likely to choose Anthropic—at roughly three times the share of OpenAI. However, an OpenAI spokesperson publicly questioned this metric, arguing it is difficult to infer market share from such data alone. Separately, sources say OpenAI leadership is also pushing to integrate capabilities across ChatGPT, Codex, and a browser, exploring a desktop “super app” direction to improve product consistency and user retention.
