Google's AI assistant Gemini has received a significant capability upgrade. It can now generate interactive simulations and dynamic models directly within a conversation, based on a user's request. This means users can turn abstract questions or complex topics into tailored visual demonstrations, gaining an understanding that goes beyond text and static images. Previously, Gemini primarily responded to such queries with text and images.
According to official examples, the new feature has wide-ranging applications. Users can ask Gemini to display the 3D rotating structure of a molecule, simulate a complex physics system, or visually demonstrate the orbital relationship between the Moon and Earth. These functional simulations are designed to help users explore their topics of inquiry more deeply and interactively. The feature is now rolling out to Gemini users globally, though it is not yet available for Education and Workspace accounts. Users should note that accessing this feature requires selecting the Gemini Pro model.
