Elon Musk's social platform X recently adjusted its creator revenue-sharing plan, reducing payments for users who post clickbait and aggregated news content. The company warned against "flooding the timeline" with low-quality material. X's product lead, Nikita Bier, stated on the platform that all "aggregator" accounts quickly repackaging and sharing others' news have seen lowered income from the revenue-sharing program.
Specifically, Bier elaborated that users habitually misusing the "breaking news" tag in posts will face permanent revenue deductions. Additionally, X is testing new tools to "identify content's original author" and "allocate a portion of revenue to them." The platform will also block earnings for users posting unmarked AI-generated war videos. These steps are viewed as X's strategic shift to elevate content quality and support original creators.
