AI company Anthropic today officially launched Claude Design, a new product from its Anthropic Labs department. Users can quickly create high-quality visual designs through simple conversational prompts, including design drafts, interactive prototypes, slides, single-page documents, and marketing materials, with support for fine editing control. This tool aims to simplify the design process and enhance creative efficiency using natural language interaction.
Claude Design is powered by the simultaneously released Claude Opus 4.7 visual model, which is the company's most powerful general visual model to date. Notably, Anthropic's Chief Product Officer Mike Krieger resigned from the Figma board on April 14, and on the same day, reports indicated that Anthropic's new model would include design features competing with Figma's core products. This further highlights the industry trend of AI labs transitioning from underlying model providers to full application builders.
