According to a report by technology outlet 9to5Google, a widespread bug has recently affected the Android app for Google's AI assistant, Gemini. This glitch has caused several newly launched features to be rolled back, while the app's user interface (UI) has unexpectedly reverted to an older design. As a result, users have found that the Gemini assistant overlay on their Android systems cannot access the full suite of tools.
The report notes that this issue emerged in the past day or so, affecting users on both the stable and beta channels of Android, and is linked to version 17.14 of the Google app. Google has not yet issued an official statement or a fix for this bug. As a temporary solution, users who urgently need the full functionality can visit the Gemini website (Gemini.google.com), which offers a solid mobile and Progressive Web App (PWA) experience and is currently unaffected by this outage.
