Recently, Google's Gemini Android app has been reported to have a significant bug that removes some recently added features and unexpectedly reverts the user interface to an older design. According to tech media 9to5Google, this bug primarily affects Android users using Google app version 17.14, covering both stable and beta channels, and has been ongoing for about the past day. The issue is not limited to the app itself but also extends to the Android overlay interface, restoring it to a previous style and limiting full access to the tool menu.
Notably, the Gemini.google.com website is not affected by this bug and still provides a good mobile and progressive web app experience, serving as a temporary alternative for users. On social media and platforms like Reddit, users have been sharing screenshots of the reverted interface, expressing confusion and concern over the lost features. Currently, Google has not issued an official statement on the matter, but the scope of the bug has sparked widespread discussion.
