Anthropic has officially launched Claude Design, a new AI design tool developed by its Anthropic Labs. This tool allows users to quickly create stunning visual works through conversational prompts and precise editing controls, including interface design, interactive prototypes, slide presentations, single-page documents, and marketing materials. Claude Design is powered by the latest visual model Claude Opus 4.7, Anthropic's most powerful general-purpose model to date, marking a significant advance in multimodal AI capabilities.
This release is seen as direct competition with design software giant Figma. Notably, Anthropic's Chief Product Officer Mike Krieger resigned from the Figma board on April 14, and on the same day, media reports indicated Anthropic's new model would include a design tool rivaling Figma's core products. Currently, Claude Design has not announced a public release date; Anthropic states it will decide the launch timing based on product iteration and user feedback, reflecting a cautious product strategy.
