Anthropic today officially launched Claude Design, a new AI design tool developed by its Anthropic Labs division. The tool can generate high-quality visuals—including interactive prototypes, slide decks, one-page proposals, and marketing materials—through conversational prompts and fine-grained editing controls. It is powered by the Claude Opus 4.7 model, also released today, which Anthropic describes as its most capable general-purpose vision model to date.
Notably, Anthropic’s Chief Product Officer Mike Krieger resigned from Figma’s board on April 14, the same day reports surfaced that the company’s next-generation model would include a design tool directly competing with Figma. Claude Design does not yet have a confirmed launch date; Anthropic says it will decide on a public release based on product feedback and user demand.
