OpenAI has officially previewed its next-generation AI software product, with industry watchers widely expecting the company to unveil a new image generation technology called gpt-image-2. According to multiple tech media sources, the model brings notable advances in text-to-image generation, particularly in rendering text accurately within images and producing realistic user interfaces—a significant step up from previous versions that could drastically improve the usability and controllability of AI image creation.
Alongside this, OpenAI also launched the "Chronicle" feature for its Codex platform, designed to enhance contextual understanding during code development. The Codex Mac app has received three key updates as well, moving beyond a simple AI code assistant toward a more agent-like programming collaboration tool. These moves indicate that OpenAI is shifting from single-model iteration to a coordinated multi-product upgrade cycle.
