New to OPenClaw? Many beginners get stuck on registration and account linking. This tutorial starts from scratch and walks you through registration, payment method binding, and multi-account switching, so you can get up and running quickly.

1. Complete OPenClaw Registration Process

Go to the OPenClaw official website and click the “Sign Up” button in the top right corner to enter the registration page. You can register using an email address or log in quickly with your Google/GitHub account—first-time users are recommended to use email registration, as it makes password recovery easier later on.

After entering your email, the system will send a verification email. Check your inbox (or spam folder). Click the verification link in the email, set a password (use a mix of uppercase, lowercase, and numbers), and complete the basic registration. If you don’t receive the verification email, try a different email provider or click resend after a few minutes.

2. Payment Method Binding & Subscription Activation

Once registered, enter the workspace and find the “Billing” or “Subscription” option in the left menu. OPenClaw supports credit cards and PayPal. For users in China, Visa/Mastercard credit cards are recommended. After binding, a $1 verification charge (refunded) may appear.

If you are using a shared account or an account purchased from someone else, you don’t need to bind your own payment method—just use the sub-account authorized by the owner. Note: The main account and sub-accounts have different permissions. The main account can manage all API keys, while sub-accounts can only use the allocated quota.

3. Account Switching & Multi-Account Management Tips

OPenClaw allows one email to bind multiple workspaces, making it easy to switch between different projects. After logging in, click your avatar in the top right and select “Switch Account” or “Switch Workspace” to jump between authorized accounts without logging in again.

If you need to completely change accounts, it’s best to log out first, then log in with the new account. Many users report that direct switching can cause API key conflicts, so get into the habit of “log out first, then log in.” Also, each account can bind up to 5 devices; if you exceed this limit, it will lock you out, so be sure to unbind unused devices in time.

Follow these three steps, and registration, binding, and switching will go smoothly. If you encounter a “Payment Failed” error during binding, it’s usually due to incorrect credit card information or insufficient balance. Check that the billing address country matches the card’s issuing country.
