OPenClaw Error Code Troubleshooting: Fix Common Issues Fast

When using OPenClaw, encountering error codes is almost inevitable, especially during initial setup or when your network environment is unstable. This article summarizes the most common error types and offers specific troubleshooting steps to help you restore service quickly. Whether you've just registered or have been using it for a while, these solutions will come in handy.

Error Code 1001: Network Connection Timeout

This error usually occurs when the client cannot establish a stable connection with the server. First, check if your local network is working properly. Try switching to Wi-Fi or using your phone's hotspot to rule out router issues. If the network is fine, it could be a temporary fluctuation on the OPenClaw server side—wait a few minutes and retry.

You can also change your DNS settings to a public DNS (e.g., 8.8.8.8) and restart the OPenClaw client. If the error persists, contact official support to confirm whether the regional node is under maintenance.

Error Code 2010: Account Authentication Failed

When you receive error 2010 during login, it means your credentials are invalid or have expired. The most common cause is a mistyped password—consider copying and pasting instead of typing manually. If you recently changed your password, log in again within the OPenClaw client.

Some users trigger security protection by frequently switching devices. Check your email inbox for a verification message to complete two-factor authentication. If you don't see it, look in the spam folder and make sure OPenClaw's authorization emails aren't being blocked.

Error Code 3022: Payment Declined

Encountering error 3022 when subscribing or upgrading your plan usually points to an issue with your bank card or payment channel. First, confirm that your card has sufficient funds and supports international transactions. Some banks disable overseas online payments by default—call your bank to enable them.

If you're using a virtual credit card, check the card's expiration date and CVV code. We recommend trying a non-prepaid physical card instead. If the payment succeeds but you still get an error, contact OPenClaw support with your transaction order number for manual verification.

Device Binding Limit Exceeded & Node Unreachable

OPenClaw limits the number of devices that can be bound to one account. When this limit is exceeded, new devices will be rejected. You can unbind rarely used devices in the "Device Management" section of your account dashboard to free up slots. Another common issue is a node being unreachable, often due to high load on the selected region—simply switch to another regional node.

If all nodes are unreachable, try turning off your proxy software's firewall or temporarily disabling your antivirus software—some security programs may block OPenClaw's local ports. If these steps don't work, consider uninstalling and reinstalling the client, or upgrading to the latest version.
