Grok Voice Mode Coming to Apple CarPlay – What You Need to Know

xAI is expanding its AI assistant into in-car use cases. The latest development: Grok Voice mode is coming to Apple CarPlay, making it the third AI chatbot app to join the platform, following ChatGPT and Perplexity. The newest version of the Grok iOS app now includes a CarPlay placeholder feature, which is not yet active but clearly points to xAI's upcoming support for Apple's in-car system.

When launched, the placeholder displays the message "Grok Voice mode coming soon to CarPlay." Notably, Grok is already built into Tesla vehicles, and this expansion to Apple CarPlay will bring it to a wider audience of non-Tesla drivers. Meanwhile, Apple is expected to release a dedicated Siri app that could integrate deeply with CarPlay as well. Grok for iOS is currently available on the App Store.

As AI voice assistants become more common in driving scenarios, Grok joining the CarPlay ecosystem will make it easier for drivers to access information and interact through voice while on the road.
