Social media platform X (formerly Twitter) has announced a full-scale overhaul of its advertising platform—the largest system upgrade in nearly two decades. According to official sources, the new ad manager began rolling out in phases starting April 2026, designed to help advertisers create campaigns more efficiently and significantly improve return on investment. The upgrade coincides with the 20th anniversary of X’s predecessor, Twitter, and is described by X as the "most ambitious ad platform rebuilding since the company’s inception."
At the core of this update is a new-generation AI-powered search and ranking system that can understand user behavior in real time and dynamically adapt to trending topics on the platform, enabling more precise, relevant, and context-aware ad placements. X says the new ad manager features a completely redesigned interface and backend architecture, aimed at helping advertisers launch campaigns faster while achieving higher ad performance. This follows Google’s launch of its AI ad system "AI Max," which automatically upgrades dynamic search ads and auto-generated assets, reflecting the broader industry shift toward AI-native advertising.
