Account Registration Step-by-Step

To start using Spotify, you first need to create an account. Open the Spotify website or app and click the "Sign Up" button. You can register using your email, or sign in quickly with Google, Facebook, or Apple ID. It's recommended to use a Gmail or Outlook email address to avoid delivery issues with verification emails from some domestic email providers. Enter your username, password, confirm your age, and the system will send a verification link. Click the link to activate your account.

During registration, you'll choose between the Free plan and the Premium plan. If you're not ready to pay, just go with the Free plan—it offers most core features, though you'll see ads and face some limitations. Once the initial setup is complete, you can start searching for music and creating playlists.

Device Pairing and Login

Spotify works across multiple devices, including phones, computers, tablets, and smart speakers. Log into your registered account on the mobile app, then go to "Settings" > "Devices" to manage connected devices. When logging in on a computer, use the same account credentials to avoid losing your listening history by mixing different accounts. For family plan users, the primary account should log in first and then invite members—this way, each member can control playback independently.

Note the following when pairing devices: each account can authorize up to 10 devices, but you can only play on one device at a time. If you see a "device limit reached" message, go to your account settings and remove authorization from unused devices. Additionally, the Spotify Connect feature lets you seamlessly switch playback between your phone and speakers—just make sure you're on the same Wi-Fi network and tap the device icon on the now-playing screen.

Account Switching and Family Plan Management Tips

If you have multiple Spotify accounts (e.g., personal and work), you can quickly switch between them in the app. On both iOS and Android, scroll to the bottom of the Settings page and select "Switch Account," then enter the new account details. Keep in mind that switching accounts on the Free plan will sync changes to your playlists and downloaded content, so it's a good idea to back up your data beforehand. For the Family plan, the primary account can add or remove members via "Account Overview" > "Manage Family Members," supporting up to 6 people.

If you encounter a "Login Failed" error when switching accounts, first check your network connection, then confirm your password is correct. Forgot your password? Click "Forgot Password" to reset it via email. Also, avoid logging into the same free account on multiple devices at the same time, as this may trigger a temporary lock.
