Spotify Individual costs less per month but is designed for solo use. The Family plan is slightly more expensive yet allows up to 6 separate accounts, bringing the per-person cost well below the Individual plan. Music Experience and Features
The Individual and Family plans are identical in core functions—both support ad-free streaming, offline downloads, and high-quality audio. The Family plan adds a "Family Mix" playlist, which the system automatically curates using each member's listening tastes, making it perfect for family gatherings. The Individual plan does not include this feature.
Address Verification and Usage Restrictions
Spotify requires all Family plan members to live at the same address, and it randomly asks the primary account holder to verify the address each year. The Individual plan has no such requirement, making it ideal for frequent movers or solo dwellers. If addresses don't match, the Family plan may be downgraded to Individual, so housemates and family users should ensure accurate information.

If you listen alone or prefer not to be tied to a specific address, the Individual plan is the most hassle-free choice. If 2–6 people live together and enjoy music as a group, the Family plan offers a lower per-person cost plus the fun of shared playlists.
