SpaceXAI has officially rolled out Grok Voice mode for Apple CarPlay, allowing CarPlay users to ask the chatbot questions and execute commands hands-free via the vehicle dashboard. Previously, the Grok for iPhone app only displayed a placeholder in CarPlay, hinting that hands-free support was "coming soon." With the release of iOS 26.4, Apple began permitting third-party voice-driven conversational apps to integrate into CarPlay. However, developers must add support for the feature, obtain special authorization from Apple, and use Apple's voice control templates.
iOS 26.4 was pushed last month, introducing the Ambient Music widget and support for voice chatbot apps. As long as the connected iPhone runs iOS 26.4 or later, CarPlay will automatically enable these new capabilities. Grok officially announced on social media: "Your commute just got smarter — now you can talk to me hands-free on Apple CarPlay."
