At the Google I/O 2026 developer conference, Google announced a series of new features and products powered by Gemini, spanning core areas including Search, Android XR, and the Gemini app ecosystem. The most anticipated is the Gemini 3.5 Pro model, currently in beta and expected to officially launch next month. In addition, Gemini Spark for U.S. users will be available to Google AI Ultra subscribers starting next week, further expanding the use cases for AI capabilities.
The Gemini app introduces a new design language called Neural Expressive, featuring fluid animations, vibrant colors, haptic feedback, and a new typeface to enhance the interaction experience. Meanwhile, the Gemini app has moved from daily prompt limits to a "compute usage" model, charging based on prompt complexity, feature usage, and conversation length. On the subscription side, Google AI Ultra has been adjusted to $100 per month, offering up to five times the usage cap compared to AI Pro. These features will begin rolling out this week across the Gemini app, Google Flow, YouTube Shorts, and other platforms in the U.S., with expansion to Search, YouTube, and Gmail planned for this summer.
