KPMG, a global professional services firm, recently announced a global strategic alliance with AI company Anthropic, integrating Anthropic's Claude AI into its worldwide operations. This deployment covers more than 276,000 employees across 138 countries and territories. Under the agreement, Claude will be embedded in KPMG's Digital Gateway software platform — the core system used by KPMG staff and clients for tax and legal work. Every KPMG employee will gain access to this AI system, representing a significant milestone in the large-scale deployment of generative AI within the professional services sector.
KPMG stated that this partnership reflects a shared commitment to responsible AI, with a primary focus on security, trust, and governance. Through built-in Claude Cowork and managed agent capabilities, KPMG professionals can build AI capabilities directly within the platform. KPMG will also serve as a preferred advisor for portfolio companies of private equity funds, helping them deploy Claude. Additionally, joint teams will use Claude to identify and remediate security vulnerabilities in critical systems, with all operations following KPMG's Trusted AI Framework. This deployment builds on the practical experience of KPMG's U.S. team over the past two years adopting Claude, including pilot programs conducted by its AI and Data Lab and internal teams.
