This marks Grok‘s evolution from an in-car voice assistant to a core technical component. As Tesla‘s latest-generation interactive system, Grok currently provides hands-free voice control in select vehicle models. However, this direct integration with the autonomous driving system means future owners may be able to control driving behaviors through natural voice conversations—such as complex commands like “take me home” or “accelerate to overtake.”

At present, Grok primarily operates as a conversational AI assistant inside Tesla vehicles, far more intelligent than traditional voice command systems, with both running in parallel.
