OpenAI has announced that Lockdown Mode is now available for all personal ChatGPT accounts (including Free, Go, Plus, and Pro versions) as well as self-serve ChatGPT Business accounts. The feature first debuted in February, initially targeting security-conscious users such as corporate executives and security teams. Now, OpenAI is making this advanced security tool widely accessible, allowing more users to benefit from comprehensive protection.
When Lockdown Mode is enabled, ChatGPT automatically restricts or disables several features that connect to web and external services, including: web browsing, DALL·E image generation, code interpreter, GPTs plugins, file uploads, voice conversations, and data training preferences. Users can activate the mode by navigating to ChatGPT Settings > Security Options. Additionally, on the same day, OpenAI also announced that Active Sessions is now available for all ChatGPT accounts and workspace types, further improving account transparency.
