Google has pushed the latest Gemini app update for macOS users today, bringing a dual upgrade to the icon design and interactive experience. The new icon replaces the previous dark container background with a pure white one, aligning with the style seen on iOS, Android, and the official download page. The Gemini star logo has also been slightly enlarged, making the overall look clearer and more eye-catching. This design adjustment is expected to roll out fully this summer alongside Gemini Spark and the new voice capabilities.
On the functionality side, the macOS version of Gemini now includes an efficient screenshot shortcut: pressing both Command keys on the keyboard simultaneously will "seamlessly attach the active window to the chat." This eliminates the need for manual screenshot steps, offering a quick experience similar to the Gemini floating panel on Android, ideal for scenarios where you need to quickly share screen content with the AI.
