Google has released the latest version of its Gemini app for macOS, bringing two key updates: a redesigned icon and a keyboard shortcut for screen captures. The new icon swaps the previous gray background for a clean white one, aligning the visual style with the iOS, Android, and official download page versions. The Gemini star emblem has also been slightly enlarged, making the app easier to identify at a glance. This design refresh is expected to officially launch alongside Gemini Spark and new voice features this summer.
On the functionality side, macOS users now have a convenient shortcut: simply press both Command keys simultaneously to "seamlessly attach the active window to your chat." This eliminates the need for manual screenshots and works much like the Gemini overlay experience on Android. The feature is designed to boost multitasking efficiency, especially for users who frequently need to share on-screen information quickly.
