Claude is a powerful AI assistant that helps you with writing, coding, analysis, and more. However, many beginners run into issues during registration and account switching. This step-by-step guide will walk you through registering, linking your accounts, and switching between profiles, while also answering common questions.
Registering a Claude Account: Email or Third-Party Login
Go to the official Claude website at claude.ai and click "Get started" in the top-right corner. You can sign up with your email address — just enter it, set a password, and then check your inbox for a verification email to activate your account. We recommend using an international email provider like Gmail or Outlook to avoid delivery issues with domestic email services in some regions.
Alternatively, you can quickly sign in using your Google account or Apple ID. Simply click the corresponding icon to authorize and skip the form-filling step. Note that Claude currently has access restrictions in certain regions, so you may need a stable network environment to complete registration.
Linking and Associating Accounts for a Better Experience
Once logged into Claude, go to your settings and find the "Account" section to add or change linked third-party accounts. For example, if you originally registered with an email but later want to log in with Google, you can link your Google account in settings. This way, even if you forget your password, you can quickly recover access through another method.
Claude also supports phone number binding for two-factor authentication (2FA). We strongly recommend enabling this feature to help prevent unauthorized access. After binding, you'll need to enter a dynamic code every time you log in from a new device, giving you an extra layer of security.
