Google today pushed the latest version of the Gemini app to macOS users, bringing interface icon and interaction optimizations. The most noticeable change is in the app container background color: the previous gray background has been replaced with white, matching the design on iOS, Android, and the official download page. At the same time, Gemini's signature "spark" icon has been slightly enlarged, further improving visual recognition. These adjustments are expected to officially launch this summer alongside Gemini Spark and new voice features.
On the efficiency side, macOS Gemini now includes a practical shortcut: pressing both Command keys on the keyboard simultaneously instantly attaches a screenshot of the current active window to your chat. This eliminates the need for manual screenshot steps, similar to the interaction logic of the Gemini overlay on Android, letting users share on-screen content with the AI assistant more quickly. Google had previously teased this design, and it is now available with the latest update.
