Google officially launched the Wear OS 7 system update on June 16, rolling out first to compatible Pixel Watch devices. This update introduces several core features and performance enhancements, with the most notable being Live Updates and Gemini smart assistant integration. Live Updates allows users to view continuously updated information—such as food delivery progress or flight status—directly on the watch face or notification cards without opening any app, significantly improving how quickly you get information while wearing the watch.
Beyond new features, Wear OS 7 also focuses on battery optimization. Google claims the update can boost battery life by up to 10%. The update also adds Wear Widgets and AppFunctions, letting users customize the watch face with weather, calendar, fitness, and other widgets for more personalized quick actions. The Gemini smart assistant delivers more natural voice interaction and context understanding, helping users quickly reply to messages, set reminders, and more.
