OpenClaw is a platform that integrates multiple AI models. Users can register to obtain API keys or directly use online services. This tutorial explains how to complete account registration, third-party bindings, and seamless switching between devices to help beginners get started quickly.
Account Registration: Complete Basic Setup in Three Steps
Go to the OpenClaw official website and click the "Register" button in the top right corner. Enter your commonly used email and a password that includes uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and is at least 8 characters long. After submitting, the system will send a verification email. Click the link in the email to activate your account. Some users may need to complete a CAPTCHA; simply follow the prompts to verify.
Once registered, we recommend completing your profile by adding a username and avatar. This makes it easier to identify your account in future use. If you plan to use a corporate email, check for any receiving restrictions to avoid the verification email being blocked.
Account Binding: Enhance Security and Convenience
After logging in, go to "Security Settings" where you can bind your phone number or third-party accounts (e.g., Google, GitHub). Binding a phone number requires receiving an SMS verification code, so use a phone you commonly have access to. Once a third-party account is bound, you can log in quickly by clicking the corresponding icon next time, without re-entering your password.
OpenClaw currently supports binding one phone number and up to two third-party accounts at the same time. After binding, you can view the list of bound accounts in "Account Management." If you change your phone, unbind the old number first before adding a new one—otherwise, verification may fail.
