Struggling with connection failures, sync interruptions, or account lockouts on OpenClaw? This guide rounds up the most common OpenClaw error codes and their step-by-step fixes, helping you quickly pinpoint and resolve problems so they don’t get in the way of daily use.
Connection Failure Errors: NetworkError & Timeout
If you see NetworkError or Request Timeout after launching OpenClaw, it’s usually a network or proxy configuration issue. First, check your local internet connection—try switching Wi-Fi or restarting your router.
If you’re using a VPN or proxy tool, make sure OpenClaw’s traffic rules aren’t being blocked. Some firewalls also cut off OpenClaw’s communication ports; temporarily disable the firewall or add an exception rule.
Sync Inconsistencies: SyncConflict & DataMismatch
When syncing across multiple devices, SyncConflict or DataMismatch means local and cloud data versions are out of sync. Manually back up important data first, then run the “Force Sync” option in OpenClaw settings.
If the issue persists, try signing out and signing back in—the system will automatically pull the latest cloud data. Avoid editing the same file on different devices at the same time, as this increases the chance of conflicts.
Account Lockouts & Login Failures: AuthFailed & AccountLocked
Repeated AuthFailed prompts during login may mean a wrong password or a compromised account. Reset your password immediately and check your email for suspicious login alerts. If you get AccountLocked, you’ve triggered the protection mechanism after too many incorrect attempts—wait 15–30 minutes and try again.
