On Monday morning, June 22, Eastern Time, social platform X (formerly Twitter) suffered a multi-hour access outage, with over 15,000 users reporting connection failures via Downdetector. Other monitoring data indicated that the number of affected users peaked at more than 30,000. The outage primarily impacted X’s mobile app and desktop web version, with user complaints including inability to refresh feeds, post updates, and load pages.
According to Downdetector’s real-time data, the outage peaked around 9:30 a.m. Eastern Time. Major East Coast cities like New York, Boston, and Washington, D.C. were the hardest hit, while significant issues were also reported in Chicago, Dallas, and Atlanta. Notably, X experienced a brief signal fluctuation on Sunday (June 21), with around 2,600 users reporting connection difficulties around midday. X has not yet issued an official statement regarding either incident.
