If Claude won’t open, messages won’t send, or errors keep popping up, it’s usually not because your “account is completely broken.” This article follows my go-to Claude troubleshooting order—starting from service status, then browser environment, then request rate—to pinpoint and fix the most common issues one by one.
Do one thing first: confirm whether Claude’s server is having fluctuations
When troubleshooting Claude, don’t rush to switch devices as the first step—check whether you’re seeing prompts like “high demand / experiencing issues.” In that case, repeatedly refreshing often just makes it laggier; it’s recommended to wait a few minutes and try again, or retry at a different time.
If multiple devices on the same network can’t chat normally, and the webpage loads but can’t generate replies, you can basically conclude it’s congestion on the service side. In this scenario, the most effective approach is to reduce concurrent operations: close extra tabs and keep only a single chat window.
Login failure, endless redirects: troubleshoot Claude from the browser and network
If the Claude login page keeps redirecting in a loop or stays stuck loading, common causes include abnormal cookies, extension conflicts, or an unstable network route. First, test logging in with an incognito window; if incognito works, go back to your regular browser and clear the cache and cookies for Claude-related sites—this usually restores normal access.
Next, check blocking-type extensions (ad blockers, script blockers, privacy shields). During Claude troubleshooting, you can temporarily disable these extensions and refresh the page; many errors that “seem like account issues” are actually caused by resources being blocked.
Message send failure, endless spinning: conversation-level Claude troubleshooting
If it spins for a long time after you submit input or shows “Something went wrong,” try starting a new blank conversation first to avoid instability caused by an oversized context in an old thread. Then split an extra-long input into two or three parts to send—this is the simplest but effective Claude troubleshooting method.
If you see “Too many requests” or similar throttling prompts, it means your requests are too frequent in a short period. Stop retrying continuously and wait a bit before sending again; also close duplicate Claude tabs to avoid background requests being triggered as well.
Upload failure, content not showing: file and page-rendering Claude troubleshooting
If file upload fails, first confirm whether the file format is supported and whether the file size is too large, and try renaming the file using only English letters and numbers before re-uploading. When troubleshooting Claude, it’s also recommended to try a different browser or network, because the upload path is more sensitive to stability.
If page content doesn’t display and gets stuck on a blank area, it’s usually related to browser cache issues or failed font/script loading. After clearing the cache, do a forced refresh (hard refresh) and reopen the conversation—this often recovers faster than repeatedly clicking “Retry.”
Still not resolved: collect information and then submit feedback
If none of the above Claude troubleshooting steps work, it’s recommended to record three pieces of information: the exact error message, the time window when it occurred, and the browser and network environment used. Also include the shortest steps that can reproduce the issue, so the support team can more easily determine whether it’s an account restriction, a network problem, or a server-side incident.
