Claude FAQ Summary: Handling Failed Message Sends, Blank Responses, and Verification Prompts

Claude

When using Claude for writing, summarizing, or analysis, you may occasionally run into issues like messages failing to send, blank responses, or file parsing failures. Below is a FAQ organized in the order of “most common and easiest to self-check,” aiming to help you pinpoint the problem in just a few steps.

1. Claude messages fail to send or show a request error

When Claude shows “send failed/request error,” first rule out network and browser environment issues: switch networks (Wi‑Fi/mobile data/corporate network), refresh the page, then try again. Many times it’s due to temporary congestion or the connection being blocked; switching networks can restore it.

If Claude keeps failing, it’s recommended to clear your browser cache and cookies, or log back into Claude using an incognito/private window. You can also temporarily disable ad blockers, script managers, or privacy/anti-tracking extensions—these extensions can occasionally block requests Claude needs.

2. Claude responses are blank, stuck loading, or stop abruptly

If Claude returns a blank response or keeps spinning, common causes include page rendering being interfered with by extensions, excessive tab resource usage, or content triggering safety filters. You can first copy your prompt into a notes app, refresh the Claude page and resend, and split the prompt into two parts to reduce the one-time load.

If Claude’s output stops halfway, first use “continue”/“keep writing” to have Claude proceed, and add a line like “continue from where you left off and keep the same structure.” When you paste very long source text or multiple materials, feeding them to Claude in batches tends to be more stable.

3. Claude file/image upload fails or content parsing is incomplete

If uploading fails, first check whether the file is too large, whether the format is unusual, or whether the filename contains strange symbols. In practice, a more reliable approach is to convert documents to PDF or plain text before giving them to Claude; for images, use common formats and ensure they’re clear.

If Claude can upload but “doesn’t read everything/misunderstands,” it’s usually because the source file has complex formatting (multi-column layout, scanned pages, overly dense tables). You can first copy out the key paragraphs, or export tables into cleaner text/screenshots, and clearly ask Claude to handle them in the order of “extract item by item—then summarize.”

4. Claude login issues, verification prompts, and account security

If Claude prompts for verification, keeps redirecting during login, or asks you to reauthorize, first check whether you’ve been frequently switching devices or using a proxy/accelerator that changes your IP. The most reliable approach is to log out of Claude, close the browser, reopen it, and then complete a full login once on the same network.

If Claude shows an abnormal login alert, it’s recommended to change your password immediately and check your email account security (your email is an important recovery channel for Claude). Also reduce logins on shared devices; if necessary, use an incognito/private window on public computers and manually log out of Claude to avoid session residue and the risks it can bring.
