Claude User Guide: Registration/Login, Verification Setup, and Multi-Device Switching Guide

Claude

This Claude user guide explains clearly: how to register a Claude account, complete verification, and log in and switch accounts across multiple devices. Follow the steps and you can usually start using Claude within a few minutes. If verification or login gets stuck, you can quickly pinpoint the cause.

1. Registering a Claude Account and First Login

Open the official Claude website (claude.ai), click the login/sign-up entry, and preferably choose one-click sign-in with a Google account for a shorter process. You can also register with an email address; follow the prompts to enter your email and set a password. After completing this, return to the Claude page and refresh once. Confirm that a profile avatar/menu appears in the lower-left corner—this indicates Claude has been successfully logged in.

2. How to Do Email/SMS Verification More Reliably

When registering with an email address, Claude usually requires a one-time verification code. Be sure to check your spam folder and the “Promotions/Subscriptions” tabs. If the page indicates that phone number verification is required, this is a risk-control requirement in some regions; just follow the on-page instructions. After entering the code, avoid repeatedly going back or resubmitting, as it can trigger a temporary restriction. It’s recommended to wait for the page to automatically redirect and complete the process.

3. Using Claude Across Computer and Phone While Staying in Sync

Logging into the same Claude account on multiple devices typically syncs conversations, but “Guest/Incognito mode” in different browsers may not retain the login state. On desktop, it’s recommended to dedicate a single browser profile (Profile) specifically for logging into Claude to avoid account mix-ups that cause frequent logouts. On mobile, if you use a browser to log in, remember to enable site cookies; otherwise, Claude may repeatedly ask for verification.

4. Switching Accounts, Logging Out, and Basic Security Settings

When you need to switch Claude accounts, first choose Log out from the personal menu in the lower-left corner, then log in again with another account to avoid session confusion caused by overwriting directly. If you use Claude on a company/school computer, after logging out it’s recommended to clear the browser cache or at least delete the site data for claude.ai. Finally, set your Claude account email to one you commonly use and can always receive verification codes, and enable two-factor verification on the email account itself—this can significantly reduce the risk of account compromise.
