Claude Account Registration and Verification Guide: Creating, Linking, and Switching Logins

3/1/2026
Claude

This article covers only the basic operations for a Claude account: how to register, how to complete verification, how to link commonly used login methods, and how to switch safely when you need multiple accounts. Follow the steps and you can usually get your Claude account ready and working normally in just a few minutes. If the on-page prompts don’t match what you see, it’s mostly related to your region or browser state; troubleshooting ideas are also provided at the end.

Preparation Before Entering the Registration Page

First, open Claude’s official website (claude.ai) in your regular browser. It’s recommended to disable extensions that block scripts to avoid the registration button doing nothing when clicked. Prepare an email address that can receive messages, since Claude account verification usually requires an email link. If you commonly use a Google account, you can also confirm in advance that you can log in to Google services normally.

Create a Claude Account and Complete Email Verification

On the login/registration page, choose “Continue with email” or “Continue with Google” and fill in the required information to create your Claude account. If you use email, the system will send a verification email to your inbox; open the email and click the verification link to activate your Claude account. If you don’t receive the email, first check Spam/Junk or the Promotions tab, then return to the page and resend the verification email.

How to Link Login Methods and Complete Basic Settings

After logging in, click your avatar in the top-right corner to enter the settings page. First complete basic items such as display name and language preference to make it easier to distinguish between different Claude accounts later. If you originally registered with email, it’s recommended that you add/link your commonly used login method in Settings (follow whatever options the page supports), so logging in on another device is more convenient. After linking, prioritize using the same method to log in to reduce the chance of mistakenly “creating another Claude account.”

How to Sign Out and Switch Claude Accounts (Avoid Mixing Accounts)

The most reliable way to switch Claude accounts is to sign out from the avatar menu, then return to the login page and sign in again with another email/Google account. If you frequently switch between two Claude accounts, it’s recommended to separate logins using browser Profiles, or use an Incognito/Private window for temporary logins to prevent cookies from getting mixed. If you can’t switch no matter what, clear site data related to claude.ai and then log in again; this usually restores normal behavior.

Common Registration/Login Sticking Points and Quick Troubleshooting

If your Claude account keeps spinning after login, try switching networks or refreshing the page, and temporarily disable ad blockers and privacy/script-blocking extensions. If the page indicates additional verification is required (such as phone verification), follow the on-page instructions; prompts may not be exactly the same in different regions. If you find that “one email somehow became two Claude accounts,” it’s usually because email login and Google login used different identity entry points. It’s recommended to standardize on one login method and confirm the current account information in Settings.
