The most common issues when using Claude aren’t about not knowing how to use its features, but rather not being able to get in, getting stuck on verification, or seeing prompts saying the model is unavailable. Below, I break down these common Claude issues by scenario and provide steps you can immediately use to troubleshoot—without taking detours.
Can’t access Claude or it keeps loading: check region and network first
If the Claude page is blank, loads very slowly, or keeps refreshing, first check whether your current network is using a corporate proxy, filtered DNS, or whether a browser security plugin is blocking it. Temporarily disable ad blockers and script-blocking extensions, then open Claude in an incognito window to quickly determine whether the issue is caused by an extension.
It’s also recommended to test with a different network (compare a mobile hotspot vs. home broadband) to see whether Claude is stable; if the problem occurs only on a specific network, it’s usually due to network policy or an egress/exit-node issue. You can also check Anthropic’s official status page (status.anthropic.com) to confirm whether Claude is under maintenance or experiencing disruptions.
Not receiving the email verification / can’t get past the code: start with inbox rules
If you don’t receive emails during Claude sign-up or login, first check your spam folder and “Promotions/Subscriptions” categories, then add the sender domain to your allowlist to avoid automatic blocking by mailbox rules. Corporate email systems are more likely to block external verification emails; retrying with a personal email account usually saves time.
If the verification code keeps failing, clear your browser cookies and cache and log in to Claude again, or simply test with another browser (Chrome/Safari/Edge). If you’ve requested verification codes frequently, wait for a while before trying again to avoid triggering risk controls that make Claude’s verification stricter.
