This tutorial covers only the most common account actions on the Claude web version: how to register, complete email verification, enable two-factor authentication, and recover your account after forgetting your password. Follow the steps to the end, and your Claude account will basically be stable.
1. Enter the Claude sign-up page and create an account
Open your browser and visit Claude’s official site (claude.ai). After clicking the Sign up/Log in entry, choose Create account. Claude typically supports signing up with an email address and also supports one-click sign-in with a Google account (the exact entry depends on what the page shows).
If you sign up with email, it’s recommended to use a commonly used email address that you’ll have long-term—Claude’s verification emails and password resets will be sent there. After signing up, don’t rush to close the page; the next step is to complete Claude’s email verification.
2. Complete email verification and what to do if you don’t receive the email
After you submit your email, Claude will send a verification email to your inbox. Open the email and click the verification link to complete the binding. If you don’t receive it, first check your spam/promotions folder, then confirm whether your mailbox has any blocking rules enabled.
If it’s still not there, go back to Claude’s verification page and click “Resend.” Some corporate email systems may delay or block external emails; it’s recommended to temporarily use a personal email to complete Claude verification, then add additional security items in your account settings.
3. Enable two-factor authentication (2FA) to improve Claude account security
After logging in to Claude, go to Account settings/Security (usually in the upper-right avatar menu) and find the Two-factor authentication or 2FA option. Follow the prompts to use an authenticator app (such as Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, etc.) to scan the QR code and link it.
