Following updates like Lyria 3 Pro and Gemini 3.1 Flash Live, Google recently introduced several new features for the Gemini app. Most notably, the free Personal Intelligence feature is now widely available in the US, open to all individual users. Previously, this feature required a paid Google AI Plan subscription, and its free release marks a crucial step in Google's effort to democratize AI assistants.
Personal Intelligence seamlessly integrates with users' Gmail, Calendar, Drive, and other Workspace apps, as well as first-party services like Google Photos, YouTube, Search, and Maps. It automatically extracts text, photo, and video information to provide personalized responses without additional prompts. Users must authorize which apps to access for privacy protection. At the same time, the Memory feature has also been widely launched. Originally named "Past Gemini chats," it enhances answer relevance by analyzing past conversation history, without users needing to explicitly remind Gemini.
