Social media platform X (formerly Twitter) has recently begun rolling out two new features powered by AI assistant Grok: automatic translation of posts and editing photos through natural language descriptions. The company stated that it is launching automatic translation globally, aiming to break down language barriers and enable posts in any language to gain global reach. Simultaneously, its iOS app has released a new image editor, where users can directly use text commands to instruct Grok to modify images.
This update is part of X's efforts to enhance the in-app user experience. However, X previously limited AI image generation features to paid users only, so it remains unclear whether the new AI photo editing function will similarly be restricted to paid subscribers. In the AI image editing space, companies like Google and Adobe have already introduced comparable capabilities that allow image modification via text descriptions.
