If you're new to Claude and want to complete registration, link your phone or email, and switch between devices smoothly, this guide covers every step. Whether you're on desktop or mobile, the core operations focus on account security and convenience—just follow along to get started quickly.
Registering a Claude Account: Email and Phone Verification
Visit the Claude official website, click "Sign Up," and enter a commonly used email address. Claude will send a verification email—open your inbox and click the link to confirm. Next, the system will ask you to bind a phone number to receive SMS verification codes. Chinese phone numbers are supported, but you'll need to add the international country code. Note that using temporary email addresses or virtual phone numbers may trigger risk controls and cause registration to fail. It's recommended to use real, long-term contact information.
After successful registration, you'll land on your personal dashboard and can start a conversation immediately. If you don't receive the verification email, first check your spam folder, then try changing your network environment (e.g., disabling a proxy) and resend. If the SMS verification code doesn't arrive, wait a few minutes or try a different carrier number. Your email can request verification up to three times per day.
Account Linking: Security Settings and Third-Party Login
To improve account security, go to "Settings" and bind a backup email and recovery codes. Claude currently supports one-click login with a Google account—once linked, you can jump straight into Claude using your Google credentials, saving the hassle of typing a password each time. For team collaboration, the Family or Enterprise plans also allow you to invite members to a workspace during organization linking.
