Claude is an AI assistant developed by Anthropic, designed to support writing, coding, analysis, and more. For new users, following the correct registration and login process is essential for a smooth experience. This guide walks you through creating a Claude account, linking your phone number, and switching between devices or accounts — helping you get started quickly.
1. How to Register a Claude Account
First, go to the official Claude website (claude.ai) and click the "Sign Up" button in the top-right corner. You can register using an email address or sign in directly with your Google or Microsoft account. If you choose email registration, enter a valid email address and set a password that is at least 8 characters long and includes both uppercase and lowercase letters as well as numbers.
After submitting your details, check your email inbox for a verification message. Click the link inside to confirm your email. Note that verification emails may sometimes land in the spam folder — if you don't see it within 10 minutes, you can request a new one. Once verified, you'll be taken to the Claude main interface, where a basic free account is ready to use.
2. Account Binding and Security Settings
To improve account security, it is recommended to bind a phone number in the settings. Go to your profile icon, select "Settings" → "Security", and click "Add Phone Number". Enter your phone number, then input the SMS verification code you receive. After this step, you can enable two-factor authentication (2FA), which requires a dynamic code in addition to your password each time you log in — significantly reducing the risk of unauthorized access.
If you use third-party login (such as Google), you can manage the connection under "Connected Accounts". This allows you to recover your account via the third-party provider even if you forget your password, which is very convenient.
