At today's Google I/O 2026 keynote, Google announced a wave of major Gemini-powered features rolling out across its entire product lineup, including Search, Android XR, Workspace, and YouTube. The centerpiece of this update is the Gemini 3.5 Pro model, currently in beta testing and set for a full launch next month. Meanwhile, Gemini Spark, a new offering for AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra subscribers, will first become available to users in the United States next week.
On the model side, Gemini 3.5 Pro will be gradually integrated into the Gemini app, Google Flow, and YouTube Shorts. Google also introduced a new reasoning tier called "Extended" and added support for third-party apps. In Search, the Gemini-powered generative UI feature will roll out to U.S. users on Search and the Gemini app this summer, later expanding to YouTube and Gmail. Additionally, the Android XR platform made its debut, offering native AI support for next-generation spatial computing devices, with developer preview tools now available.
