Claude

If you're new to Claude, the registration process and multi-account management might seem confusing. This step-by-step tutorial will guide you through signing up, linking basic info, and quickly switching between multiple accounts—whether you're a beginner or a returning user. Claude is a conversational AI assistant developed by Anthropic. It works on both web and mobile, and the setup is straightforward.

Registration & Account Creation

First, open the official Claude website (claude.ai) and click the "Sign Up" button. You have two options: sign in with your Google account for a one-click login, or register manually using your email address. We recommend using Google—it's quick and only requires a single authorization. If you choose email registration, you'll need to check your inbox for a verification code and enter it to proceed.

During registration, phone verification is required. Claude currently supports phone numbers from most countries, including China (+86). After entering your number, you'll receive a 6-digit code. Enter it to activate your account. Note that each phone number can only be linked to one account, but you can change your number later by unbinding it in Settings.

Basic Settings & Account Linking

Once registered, you'll land on the main interface. This guide focuses on the free version, so we'll skip Claude Pro subscription details. Click your avatar in the top-right corner and go to "Settings." Here you can update your nickname and select your language (Chinese interface is currently supported). Under "Connected accounts," you can link third-party services like Slack and Notion, allowing Claude to read external documents directly.

To use the same Claude account across different devices, simply log in with the same email or Google account. Data syncs automatically, including chat history and conversation preferences. Note that the free version has daily usage limits—approximately 50 conversations per day (subject to server load).

Multi-Account Switching Tips

Many users maintain multiple Claude accounts (e.g., one for work, one for personal use). On the web, Claude doesn't have built-in multi-account switching, but you can use your browser's profile feature. For example, in Chrome, create separate "profiles" for each Claude account, log in to each, and switch between them effortlessly without interference.

On mobile (iOS/Android), you can use the system's multi-user mode or different browser apps. For instance, on an iPhone, log into Account A with Safari and Account B with Chrome. It's that simple. Remember: chat histories between different accounts are completely isolated, so there's no risk of confusion.

Common Login Issues & Solutions

If you encounter "email not verified" or "phone number already in use" errors, first check your spam folder and resend the verification email. When phone binding fails, make sure the number format is correct (e.g., +86 138xxxx). International SMS may have a delay, so wait a few minutes. Also, Claude is sensitive to VPN usage—avoid frequently switching nodes to prevent triggering security checks that could lock your account.

Account locks are rare, but if you enter the wrong password repeatedly or log in from an unusual location, you'll need to reset your password via email or contact Anthropic support. In general, keep your network stable and use a real phone number, and you should have no issues.
