If you're new to Claude, the registration process and multi-account management might seem confusing. This step-by-step tutorial will guide you through signing up, linking basic info, and quickly switching between multiple accounts—whether you're a beginner or a returning user. Claude is a conversational AI assistant developed by Anthropic. It works on both web and mobile, and the setup is straightforward.
Registration & Account Creation
First, open the official Claude website (claude.ai) and click the "Sign Up" button. You have two options: sign in with your Google account for a one-click login, or register manually using your email address. We recommend using Google—it's quick and only requires a single authorization. If you choose email registration, you'll need to check your inbox for a verification code and enter it to proceed.
During registration, phone verification is required. Claude currently supports phone numbers from most countries, including China (+86). After entering your number, you'll receive a 6-digit code. Enter it to activate your account. Note that each phone number can only be linked to one account, but you can change your number later by unbinding it in Settings.
Basic Settings & Account Linking
Once registered, you'll land on the main interface. This guide focuses on the free version, so we'll skip Claude Pro subscription details. Click your avatar in the top-right corner and go to "Settings." Here you can update your nickname and select your language (Chinese interface is currently supported). Under "Connected accounts," you can link third-party services like Slack and Notion, allowing Claude to read external documents directly.
To use the same Claude account across different devices, simply log in with the same email or Google account. Data syncs automatically, including chat history and conversation preferences. Note that the free version has daily usage limits—approximately 50 conversations per day (subject to server load).
